1885 Bride
Another bride made for the 2010 Miniatures Auction:
This lady wears a style popular in 1885. Her gown is of pale cream dupion silk and matching cotton lace. The tight fitting bodice has a V - neckline which is bordered by 2 pleats and a row of lace. The fitted sleeves end at the elbow with frill of lace.
The skirt front panel has 2 rows of pleated lace at the bottom. There is a lace and braid border at the sides of the panel. The fullness of the skirt is gathered to the back into a train, which is trimmed with pleated lace. The lace frill is edged with matching braid and evenly spaced silk ribbon bows.
Her floor length veil is held in place by tiny pink Fimo roses and gold beads, which also secure her soft brown curls in place.
Around her neck she wears a "gold" and "pearl" necklace with a "sapphire" pendant.
