Cinderella Mannequin
I was playing with the idea of making a gown from around the 1650's, but a doll dressed from this era wouldn't really fit in my dollhouse, which is supposed to be late 1800's!
I thought a mannequin would be perfect as I could display it in the attic - where it would be a relic of times long past!
Again I used Dupion silk - this time in cream - for the overdress, which is edged with a pale pink and mint trim. The overdress parts in the centre front to reveal the bodice and underskirt, which is of coffee dyed satin covered with embroidered lace also dyed in the same cuppa! The scalloped lace edges are embellished with pink silk ribbon bows, which are also on the tight, elbow length sleeves.
