Little Girl in a Pinafore
This little girl was made as a "Parkhurst Project". My friends and I try to make an annual trip to the Parkhurst Miniature Show in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the evenings we claim the diningroom table at the B&B and work on a project; the kits for which I put together at home.
The doll is once again made by Dianne Yunnie. I made the fabric by scaling down a pretty wallpaper and printing on batiste using the freezer paper method and my computer.
The pinafore is a broad cotton anglaise, carefully cut to maximise the scallops in the bodice. She wears spider lace socks and silk ribbon shoes. The hat is made of braid and is decorated with silk ribbon roses and Fimo flowers.
Her toy pram, which was a white plastic Christening cake decoration, has been dry-brushed to resemble wicker and trimmed with lace and ribbons. She has a teddybear (which was a cell phone charm and is now decorated with ribbons and roses) and her own baby doll (another cake decoration now dressed in lace and ribbons).
Please look under the TUTORIALS section to find the printable for her dress fabric.
